Action camera was designed for capturing photos and videos in action, especially extreme sports. The feature of this camera type is that it’s very light weight in nature and usually comes with a mount which allows you to take POV (point-of-view) video by strapping camera to your helmet, or you can take yourself in action by attaching it to sports equipment such as handlebars when biking, kayak when paddling, board when surfing or skating, or put anywhere else that might create compelling images for the viewer.
Another desirable feature of an action camera is that most of these have waterproof and dustproof housing. This does not stop you from using your device in the most extreme weather conditions.
